From 18 to 26 June 2025, the Institute of Information Technology in Civil Engineering (IIC) – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering delivered a Revit MEP course for Mien Trung Corporation (Tổng Công ty Cổ phần Miền Trung). The 30-hour course was held at the company's head office in Thanh Hoa City.
This was one of three Revit courses the Institute delivered for the Corporation in 2025, together with Revit Architecture and Revit Structure, to build consistent BIM capability across all three design disciplines. The Revit MEP course was intended for the engineers responsible for the building's technical systems.

Training programme content
The programme was based on the syllabus of the Institute's Revit MEP course and covered the following main areas:
- Software and MEP workflow. The role of Revit MEP in designing a building's mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems; creating the project file and linking the architectural model as the basis for the systems.
- Plumbing. Display settings, placing sanitary fixtures, connecting pipework, checking the system and adjusting pipe sizes.
- HVAC. Placing equipment, connecting ductwork, checking connections and recalculating duct sizes.
- Electrical. Placing and connecting electrical devices, laying out conduit and cable trays, and scheduling wiring and devices.
- Technical drawings. Creating views, annotation and dimensions and presenting complete plumbing, HVAC and electrical drawing sets; Revit MEP quantity take-off for handover documents.
- MEP families. Valve, pump and lighting fixture families.
- Comprehensive exercise and load calculation. Modelling a pump room; creating spaces and zones and calculating heating and cooling loads to select air-conditioning equipment.
Training methodology
Each system was taught in the same sequence: setting up the system, placing equipment, connecting pipework or wiring routes, checking, and producing drawings. Participants practised at their workstations with the architectural model as a base, learning how the MEP model is coordinated with the architectural and structural models within a single project.
The Institute sincerely thanks Mien Trung Corporation for choosing it as its training partner.
