From 19 to 27 July 2025, the Institute of Information Technology in Civil Engineering (IIC) – Hanoi University of Civil Engineering delivered a Revit Structure course for Mien Trung Corporation (Tổng Công ty Cổ phần Miền Trung). The 30-hour course was held at the company's head office in Thanh Hoa City.
This was the second course the Institute delivered for the Corporation in 2025, alongside the Revit Architecture course for the architectural team (12 June to 25 July 2025). The course aimed to equip the structural engineering team to build reinforced concrete structural models and produce design documents directly from the model.

Training programme content
The programme was based on the syllabus of the Institute's Revit Structure course and covered the following main areas:
- Introduction to BIM and Revit. BIM and LOD concepts, the sequence of a BIM project and the Revit working environment.
- Concrete modelling. Grids and levels; foundations, columns, beams and floors, including placing structural columns in Revit on the grid; material settings, visibility control and completing the structural floor plans.
- Families for structural projects. Isolated footings, strip footing beams, pile caps, tapered columns, concrete stairs and 2D symbol and annotation families.
- Reinforcement modelling. Concrete cover, reinforcement settings and hands-on reinforcement of beams, columns, foundations, slabs and stair flights.
- Quantities and extensions. Building schedules in Revit for concrete quantities of beams, columns, slabs and foundations, and compiling reinforcement schedules by element.
- Drawing output. Title blocks to the company's template, sheet layout, print settings and export to PDF, DWG and IFC.
- Team collaboration. Sharing models with worksets and setting up central and local files for each team member.
Training methodology
Topics were taught in the order in which a structural document set is produced, from concrete modelling and the family library to reinforcement, quantity schedules and drawing output. Participants practised at their workstations throughout the course, enabling them to apply the workflow directly to the Corporation's projects.
