Teaching Revit as a design manager’s tool
Building the model is one thing; keeping it good enough to serve approval submissions, consultant coordination and programme control is another. Mr Duy teaches the second.
- Teaches the Revit Architecture course at the Institute since 2020.
- Autodesk Revit Certified Professional — issued by Autodesk itself, and it tests work in the software rather than theory alone.
- BIM delivery across three continents — Hong Kong, Qatar and Australia, markets where naming conventions and model detail are tightly specified.

From drafting to approving
Ten years through four roles: project architect, BIM architect, architectural manager and design manager.
BIM architect — Atlas Industries Vietnam (2016–2018)
Delivering BIM projects for the Hong Kong, Qatar and Australian markets, each with its own modelling conventions.
Architect and software instructor (2017–2019)
Design consultancy on civil and industrial works at ABBO, coordinating high-rise residential and factory projects, while teaching AutoCAD and Revit at IDC Center.
Architectural then design manager — Becamex–Tokyu, Group GSA, Ong & Ong (2021–2025)
Design management for residential and commercial projects, authority submissions, writing and running the BIM execution plan per project, and working with the commercial team on quotations, bidding and contract control.

- Modelling architecture in Revit — walls, floors, roofs, stairs and openings, built so they can still be changed later rather than redone.
- From model to documents — plans, sections, elevations, schedules and sheet sets issued straight from the model.
- Naming conventions and level of detail — unavoidable once several disciplines work on one model.
- Coordination with other disciplines — linking models, clash checking and what to do when structure or services hit the architectural intent.
