About this course

Bringing BIM into an entire company takes more than training a few individuals — it needs a programme built around the firm's own processes, projects and people. This contract-based BIM Manager class does exactly that: instructors teach at your office (or via Zoom for distributed teams), using one of your live projects as the running case study.

The curriculum builds on the long-term BIM cooperation between Hanoi University of Civil Engineering and its Japanese partner. Beyond training, the Institute also offers full BIM process consulting, guiding BIM management on specific projects.

1. BIM foundations for organisations

A shared BIM vocabulary and concept framework for the firm
BIM use cases and the parties involved in a project
Benefits and challenges of an organisational BIM transition
Common BIM platforms, environments and toolsets
Vietnamese regulations, standards and implementation guidance
Workshop: drafting a BIM deployment plan for one of the company's projects

2. Project data on the cloud

Running Autodesk Construction Cloud (Docs, Build) as the common data environment
Storage structure and role-based member permissions
Submittal and approval flows for 3D models and 2D drawings
Tracking RFIs and site progress; exporting reports
Using Autodesk Viewer and Drive for storage and model navigation
Quality review of architecture, structure, MEP and fire-safety models
Checking drawings and quantities inside the BIM environment

3. Standardising project structure

Reviewing file splitting: master file, per building, per discipline
Team collaboration with Worksets
Controlling survey coordinates and true project orientation
Company-wide naming and colour conventions

4. Coordination and clash management

Building a cross-discipline clash matrix
Designing the 3D coordination process and the federated model
Managing Search Sets for checking
Detecting, triaging and resolving clashes; coordination reporting

Learning format

Contract-based delivery: on-site at your office nationwide, via Zoom for distributed teams, or at the centre's classrooms in Hanoi and HCMC. The 8-session framework is tailored to the company's real project, with project data kept confidential.

Deferral policy

In-person courses: deferral of up to one year from the date the centre confirms it.
